And to the Republic -- Republic: a sovereign state in which power is invested into the representatives chosen by the people to govern; and the government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.

Cultural assimilation (often called merely assimilation) is an intense process of consistent integration whereby members of an ethno-cultural group, typically immigrants, or other minority groups, are "absorbed" into an established, generally larger community. This presumes a loss of many characteristics which make the newcomers different. A region or society where assimilation is occurring is sometimes referred to as a melting pot.
Editors note: The vast majority of the illegals coming now do not want to assimilate and "melt in", but to change us and "have it their way" if you will!! Thus the flag burning, ITS being placed under a foreign flag, and inciting to riot. ( I have many Mexican friends that agree whole heartily with me and have become citizens the proper way!) Religious fanatics, what would have happened if all the remaining passengers were allowed to climb into the last rafts as the Titanic was sinking? Hmm, then all would have drowned! Use some common sense!
